There are lots of things to consider when you are moving abroad with children and it is difficult to give a clear indication of what you can expect because it depends so much on where you are coming from, how old your kid or kids are and basically how much experience you have. Singapore is probably not one of the worst spots to come to, there is a large international community and the level of services is very high but it may still be difficult, particularly because one of you will be immersed in the new job and responsibilities.

Babies

When you have a very young child or starting your family here it may be the most difficult. If you are a 'new' parent in your home country you will be able to fall back on support of family, friends and your community. Abroad that is a bit different, particularly if you have not been here for very long. In Singapore there are several support forums to help you get to grips with having a small one a long way from home. Young Children

When you have small children, toddlers or Primary school age, things are (or could be) a little bit easier. There is a large number of local and international Kindergardens and Primary schools where your child will be able to mix and mingle and 'grow' and that at the same time can be quite a support to you.
